this is our first “editorial”, believe it or not, we are finally online! after almost 2 years of hopeless struggling with dreamweaver, html, php, css – sorry, we did not mean to scare you away – this is what it was supposed to look like.
when we came to the point where the functionality for a blog or at least a simple comment page was to be added, it turned out that my design was too big a challenge for the average php-developer. on top of that it was pretty static so not much happening over time and quite tedious to update. so i sadly dumped my beautiful design and gave wordpress a chance.
as you can easily see, this whole website has just been set up in two days, and as such it is only a bare beginning. but i am working on it day and night – literally! kiwis are nocturnal, you know! – to fill it with content. but it is just as well up to you by contributing to it and bringing it all alive.
we will put up lots of photos and videos and a bit of information about what this country has to offer. it’s the “upside down” page where you will find some facts about this side of the globe that you may or may not already know. from a kiwi’s point of view some things just look very different!
there will be a page called stories, there you will find short summaries of events we think are worth sharing with you.
the editorial post (you are reading just now), will be updated in irregular, maybe weekly intervalls. should there be anything you are missing, anything you would like to find here or that is not working properly, let us know, we are open for any new suggestions; we are in a state of constant transition anyway, it will keep this website alive and me away from getting too much sleep! since this is the first editorial i have to give heaps of credits to my two boys for all their patience they had with me while i was trying to get this up and running. i guess they had to listen to a lot of “geek speak” and “tech jargon” they cannot really understand, they are grasping the basic concept though…
